Dear Monday

Dear Monday,

Here I sit with my laptop on ...eh, my lap (so that's why it's called a laptop?!), out on my balcony. I have two blankets, fingerless gloves, and my hoodie drawn over my head. It's cold, and getting colder by the minute it seems, but I don’t want to go inside just yet. I've spent most of the day here: drinking tea, reading books, noticing how green the world has become, and getting to know a neighbour that I've never spoken with before. You've been rather a nice day to me, Monday, and I appreciate it. It must be hard to be a Monday, when so many people dislike Mondays on principle, but as I said, you’ve been nice.

Sunday, soil and seeds

Spent most of yesterday repotting the majority of my plants. Some of them really found their old homes to be much to small, and without adequate amount of nourishing soil, so I hope they will find their new pots more pleasant. I also fixed them up a little, by removing dry leaves and flowers and the like, so they do look healthier now. Sort of as if they had been to the hair dresser. So, does that make me a leaf dresser?

I also sowed some seeds in pots, mainly tomato seeds, and then caught temporary megalomania and found some empty and almost-empty cans and jars that I washed, filled with soil and planted even more tomato seeds, as well as bell pepper and lemon. I had some success with some bell pepper seeds last summer, but I think I have recently drowned that plant, for it looks dreadfully unhappy, and I fear it may be lost and destined for the compost. I'm not a great gardener, I'm afraid...

To my disappointment, none of the seeds seem to have sprouted and come up overnight. Ahh, all this waiting...
